From the start, Steven La Fonte envisioned a “modern classic” home where each light fixture would feel like a piece of couture—tailored, elegant, and entirely unforgettable. “A Chanel brooch was actually the inspiration for the Great Room light fixture,” he shares. “We wanted each piece to feel as special as a signature accessory in a well-curated outfit.” Since there was not an off-the-shelf solution that matched his vision, he collaborated closely with Fine Art Handcrafted Lighting to create a custom fixture, meticulously crafted to bring his concept to life and make it as distinctive as the home itself.

That atmosphere? Purposeful and emotionally resonant. “Lighting tells a story,” Steven explains. “It helps define transitions, adds drama, and highlights texture. Another standout moment came with the creation of a custom dining room fixtur: an extraordinary piece featuring over 100 custom crystal strands in varying lengths. “We wanted the fixture to be a showstopper, something that would complement the room’s elegance while feeling completely unique,” Steven explains. The head of Fine Art’s production attended the installation and personally placed each strand. “Seeing it come together in person was a wow moment,” Steven recalls. “It was the vision fully realized, and the result exceeded all our expectations.”
